TRENDING TERMS

CLEAN BEAUTY

Clean beauty means that the product will not harm your skin or health due to its safety-tested and non-toxic ingredients.

PLANT BASED

Plant-based ingredients are derived solely from plants or other natural sources such as grains, seeds, herbs, flowers, etc. We choose plant extracts that are packed with vitamins and nutrients for your skin.

DOUBLE CLEANSING

Double cleansing is exactly how it sounds - washing your face with two cleansers. But what's important to know is that the first cleanser should be oil-based and the second should be water-based.

HYPER-
PIGMENTATION

Hyperpigmentation is when dark patches of skin occur around your normal skin. Although it’s usually harmless, it can be frustrating to manage. It typically comes from an excess of melanin and can be treated in numerous ways.

CRUELTY FREE

Products that are developed and/or manufactured by methods other than testing and experimenting on animals.

VEGAN

You may be wondering what's the difference between vegan and plant-based/clean beauty. Vegan products are in no way derived from animals whereas some elements of plant-based products may be.

RETINOL/
RETINOIDS

Retinoids are antioxidants derived from Vitamin A that promotes collagen growth, diminishes wrinkles, unclogs pores and improves skin texture. Retinol is a type of retinoid but the main difference is the strength. Retinol contains a lower concentration of the active acid ingredient and is gentler on the skin.

MICROBIOME SKINCARE

Microbiome refers to the microscopic organisms that live on our skin such as (good) bacteria, fungi, viruses and other microbes. Microbiome skincare helps replenish nutrients that restore and maintain the skin's health from environmental damage and stressors of modern-day life.

SKINIMALISM

Skinimalism has been a growing trend with the main concept being less is more. Whether it’s doing a more natural makeup look or minimizing skincare products in your daily routine, skinimalism is focused on embracing REAL beauty and using just the essentials. Now more than ever we are learning to accept our imperfections, blemishes and “flaws" instead of covering them up.

MASKNE

Maskne refers to acne around the chin, nose, and mouth area due to wearing a mask for an extended period of time. By constantly breathing in and trapping your own hot air, a humid environment is created that becomes the ideal setting for bacteria and yeast to grow.

BLUE LIGHT SKINCARE

We all know that blue light can be damaging to our eyes but did you know it can also be harmful to our skin? Overexposure to blue light through screens on our devices can cause as much damage to your skin as the sun. This can result in premature aging (fine lines and wrinkles) without proper protection.

ANTI-POLLUTION

Anti-pollution skincare caters to the causes of free radicals and other damages on the skin. There are a lot of elements that can be defined as pollutants to the skin such as micro-particles that cause damage to the skin with the same rate as the sun can damage it.
